Each year, with your help, the Annual Native American Art Auction and Dinner brings us closer to our goal of completing the Suscol Village. The Suscol Village is a cultural center that will preserve history, reach new generations and open doors of wonder for everyone! All proceeds from the Auction will go towards the development of “Suskol House”, the heart of our Native American cultural center located in Pope Valley, in the rural, eastern part of Napa County.
Formerly known as Talahalusi (the Beautiful Land), the Napa Valley is one of California’s longest inhabited areas. The First People lived in permanent villages as hunter/gatherers in this rich, beautiful environment with a capacity to support a dense, socially complex population of 30,000 to 40,000 people. Suscol House will be used to preserve and share that rich, living culture in a contemporary setting.
The Native American Art Auction and Dinner brings two exciting worlds together: the world of art, with featured artist Johnny Clay, and the world of food and wine, with featured wineries like Honig Winery, Calistoga Cellars, and Mumm Napa Valley. A traditional salmon dinner will be served by local chef, Michael Fradelizio of Silverado Brewing Co. Local businesses have donated wine and other wonderful items for our Silent Auction. Our Live Auction is all Native American pieces.
Thank you to ALL that made the Native American Art Auction and Dinner a huge success in the past !!!
Especially thanks to Michael Fradelizio of Siverado Brewing Company, Charlie Toledo, Valerie and Keith Casale, Sally and Jo Buchannan, Lynn Peck, Annibal, Rosa and Summer Noble and everyone else who volunteered to make it possible!
